History

ACM was founded as an educational organization in Philadelphia in 2001 with the purpose of “inspiring musical excellence by the Word of God.” Under the leadership of H. Vincent Treadway, then organist and music director at Proclamation Presbyterian Church, Bryn Mawr, Pennsylvania, ACM hosted periodic lunches for church musicians, and annually, a youth recital competition, a Handbell Festival and a Church Music Symposium. In 2011 ACM’s office was moved to Tacoma, Washington.
